Potomac Electric’s USD Servo Drive is a new addition to our motor line, designed to address obsolescence and extend the life of older applications. Once the requirements are defined, the retrofit can be easily completed by the end user. The USD series is a **state-of-the-art drive** that interfaces seamlessly with both older products and modern applications.

Currently, a great number of machines are running with large, obsolete DC and AC Servomotors and Amplifiers. Many use 1980’s to 2000’s-generation products that are rapidly becoming outdated. These machines are found in every industry, but the majority are used in CNC Machine Tools, Plastics and Material Handling applications. These large- power servosystems have brand names such as Peerless, Gettys, Inland, Fanuc, Yaskawa, Kolmorgen and Indramat, to name a few.

Repair or Replacement of obsolete motors or amplifiers, to prolong the life of an otherwise perfectly good machine, is a big problem. The unavailability of replacement motors and amplifiers result in huge repair costs. What is worse, the reliability of the product is very poor.

The USD/M54XX Brushless Servo system provides a cost-effective solution to avoid expensive retrofit of the whole Machine Control. Simply replace the Drive, Motor and two cables – done!

Mechatronics Systems introduces the **BRIC power supply**, designed for **multiaxis servo applications**. The PX400 BRIC power supply can provide a 24V logic supply and DC bus voltage for up to **three servo drives**, such as the [**BSA12-100**.](https://mechatronicssystems.com/products/brushless-servoamplifiers/bsa12-100) It also features a shunt regulator circuit with a built-in dynamic brake resistor to absorb mechanical energy.
