

High-Performance DC Motor for Precision Variable Speed and Servo Applications
The M8000 is a high-performance DC motor specifically designed for the U.S. Army's PALADIN M109A6 self-propelled Howitzer. The PALADIN is manufactured by BAE Systems and has been successfully deployed by the U.S. military and armed forces in other countries around the world.
Although high-power DC motors are less common today than AC motors, they continue to provide superior reliability and simplified control. Developed to power the hydraulic pump system of the PALADIN M109A6 self-propelled Howitzer, the M8000 high-performance DC motor offers a compact design with high power-density and exceptional starting and continuous torque.
Featuring high-energy permanent magnets, the M8000 is lighter and more efficient than traditional series-wound or shunt-wound motors. Renowned for its simplicity, durability, and reliability, the M8000 is commonly used with DC power supplies. It can also be easily converted into a high-performance servo motor by integrating a feedback device for precise velocity and position control.
